What GigPiece collects, why, and who it's shared with — in plain language, covering exactly what the app actually does.
GigPiece is built and operated by Ken Apperson (“we,” “us”). GigPiece helps musicians, DJs, and other gig workers turn their existing calendar into automatic pay, mileage, and tax tracking. This policy covers the GigPiece mobile app and its companion website features.
GigPiece is built to need as little as possible. Here's everything it can collect:

| Usage analytics | Aggregate, anonymous usage data (which screens are opened, how often, for how long) via Firebase Analytics, so we know which features are actually useful. This is never linked to your name, email, or an advertising identifier — we don't use ad-tracking IDs at all. |
Everything above is used for one purpose: showing you your own gigs, pay, mileage, and tax estimates inside the app. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising, ours or anyone else's.
One optional feature, the private-event Contract & Invoice Assistant, sends the text of a client's email you paste in to Anthropic's Claude API to pull out structured details (date, venue, pay) for your review. You choose when to use this; it only ever processes what you explicitly submit.
AI & your Google/Microsoft data: data GigPiece obtains through Google Workspace or Microsoft Graph API scopes (like your calendar) is never used to train, develop, or improve any AI/ML model — foundational, generalized, or otherwise. GigPiece's use of that data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The Contract & Invoice Assistant only ever processes text you manually paste in, never your calendar data.
We use a small number of service providers to run GigPiece, each only for its specific job:
None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
GigPiece's Virtual Manager feature is opt-in and off by default. If you turn it on, a read-only list of your upcoming public gigs (venue, date, time) becomes viewable at a link you choose to share or embed on your own website. Gigs you've marked private (weddings, private parties) are automatically excluded and never show your client's details — only that you're booked that day. Pay and financial figures are never included in this public feed. Turning the feature back off removes the feed immediately.
Your data stays in your account for as long as you use GigPiece. You can disconnect Google or Microsoft Calendar at any time from Settings, which stops any further access immediately. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at the address below and we'll take care of it.
GigPiece is built around a small, locked-down set of protections rather than broad access:
GigPiece is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children under 13.
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date below and, where practical, let you know in the app.
